The Ordeal

Antichrist smiles from a poster
“0 paymnts 12 mths U deserve it”

so these days
Golden Years Manor is half full of blown kidneys,
old customers in their thirty somethings
strapped in, 
maybe one open eye locked at 10 o'clock
for "Days of our Lives."

Come the 4th
somebody sticks a plastic flag
in a tube behind that guy's head.
Nobody knows his name.

Old hippies used to muse that was some good dope
growing in the hedge at Patmos.
“After all,” they said,
"it's just myths. Establishment propoganda.”
